What to Do in The Cape

Explore the National Seashore, catch ferries to the Islands from Hyannis or Wood’s Hole, fishing trips or whale-watching excursions from Barnstable or Provincetown daily. The Cape Cod Melody Tent, featuring an annual schedule of summer concerts, and The Cape Cod Playhouse are all easily accessible for enjoyable and special evenings out.

The Skipper Restaurant & Chowder House This is a seasonal restaurant open from mid April to mid October. They serve the finest seafood with the best view since 1936.

Cape Cod Creamery Across the street from The Escape Inn. Delicious ice cream and nice sitting area to enjoy.The selection is not overwhelming, their ice cream is delicious and their service is great.

Captain Parker's Pub One of the classics. Claims to have the best Clam Chowder on the Cape. Very popular. Can get a bit crowded.

Gerardi's Cafe Classic and creative Italian fare with unrivaled flavor. Fresh, homemade pasta and outstanding service.


Beaches

Cape Cod’s beaches are among the finest in the world (beware of the sharks!). They offer a diversity of experiences: salt water and fresh water, calm water and big waves. Find your perfect beach here, but these are the closest to The Escape Inn:

West Dennis Beach Family-friendly spot with a playground showcases beach activities such as kite flying & windsurfing.

Windmill Beach Walking distance (1 mile) from The Escape Inn, this is an intimate beach on the Bass River.

Bass River Beach 2 miles from The Escape Inn is a 1/2 hour walk or a 10' bike ride away.

South Middle Beach This is a Yarmouth Residents' Beach but you can bike from The Escape Inn. About 2.3 Miles away.


Golfing

Bass River Golf Course 1 mile away from The Escape Inn, this course is open to the public. You can buy individual rounds or an annual pass for unlimited play.

Cranberry Valley Golf Course Amazing layout, coupled with best conditioning, makes for a great golf experience for players of all levels. Open to the public and memberships available.

Blue Rock Golf Course is a very beautiful 18-hole, par-3 golf course. The layout is more for relaxed enjoyment than a golf challenge. .


Attractions

With an expansive 40 miles of national seashore, Cape Cod is one of New England's premier beach destinations. Cape Cod National Seashore Over 40,000 beautiful acres of protected beach and dunes, stretching from Chatham to Provincetown.

Provincetown is at the northern tip of the Cape. The seaside town is on the site of the Mayflower’s landing in 1620, commemorated by the towering Pilgrim Monument and neighboring Provincetown Museum.

Cape Cod Rail Trail This bike path runs 25 miles, from Dennis to Wellfleet.

Heritage Museum and Gardens Sandwich's Heritage Museums & Gardens appeal to travelers of all ages and interests.
